The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,142.45, down 19.03 points or -0.37% on the day and up 81.53 points (+1.61%) over the week.

Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 4,202.20 (940.25 points or 22.38%).

£1 is currently worth $1.56690 US or €1.15100 Euros.

Brent Crude Oil Future is currently priced at $73.02/barrel. Gold is $1,082.00/ounce and Silver is $15.33/ounce.

The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 2.9% for the year to December 2009.
