The number of qualifying years required to obtain a full basic State pension is being reduced for men and women on 6th April 2010, so those reaching their State pension age before this date will need a larger number of qualifying years to get the same pension benefits.</description>

		<description>Surely reaching retirement age after midnight on 6th April 2010 is to the individuals advantage,
not his detriment as your article suggests. As I read it if your 65 after 6 April you need only 30 years to receive full state pension.  Or am i reading it wrongly ?</description>
